About Us

What We Do

Here at Cultivate Outdoors LLC we seek to find the infinite in the finite. What does that mean, exactly? We want to replicate the grandiose of nature in small micro forms. We do this especially through landscape design for home and business, the creation of indoor and outdoor micro landscapes, bonsai trees, indoor plants, and more. Elements of the outdoors have such a calming and peaceful effect on us as humans and we want to help capture some of the most special elements of this and bring them into our homes and landscapes.

Our Inspiration

Our goal is to create a natural and practical landscape for your home or office, in all shapes and sizes. We are mostly inspired by the beauty and majesty of the great outdoors around us. But we also take a lot of direction from the artforms of Bonsai and Peijing. We have adopted a western/Texan approach to these ancient eastern artforms.

What is Bonsai?

Bonsai at its simplest definition is a tree in a container. Bonsai seeks to capture the age and beauty of mature trees in miniature forms in a contained environment (like a pot!). The older and more mature the tree looks, the more successful the bonsai. Bonsai is an artform and does not refer to just one type of tree. Also, contrary to popular misconceptions, bonsai are not indoor trees. While some specific bonsai can live indoors, most are more suited to remain outside in their natural environment. Here at Cultivate we like to use native Texas trees and species that have proven hardy in this area to create our bonsai and miniature landscapes.
